This section of the site is to show some of the amazing architecture and Landmarks that are currently in Reading. The Maiwand Lion

The Maiwand Lion is a sculpture in the Forbury Gardens, a public park in Reading town centre. The statue is a war memorial, and was named after the Battle of Maiwand. Read more…

Forbury Gardens

Forbury Gardens is a public park in the Reading. The park is situated next to Readng Abbey. The garden originated due to Monasteries in English towns having a Forbury, which was simply a ‘borough in front’, or a large area of open land either just inside or just outside the abbey walls. Read more…

The Oracle

The Oracle is Reading’s State of the art Shopping Centre.  It takes its name from a 17th century workhouse built by funds from a local man John Kendrick that once occupied a small part of the site now occupied by the shopping centre. Read more…

Royal Berkshire Hospital
