Thank you all for your help, support and content.  The City of Reading has submitted “The People’s Bid” to Reading CIC, the team putting the official bid together for Reading to join the City Status Competition.

The Bid featured many of your comments and stories along with photographs of key landmarks of our town.

But there is no time to rest!  This is just the beginning.

Between now and when the result of the winning town is announced in 2012 we need to continue to promote our town.  There are many great people, events and activities that happen in Reading everyday and we need to share these with the people of the town and the rest of the UK.

The bids in previous years fell down due to a lack of support from the community of Reading, so now is your opportunities to help your town become bigger, better and stronger for you, your family and future generations.

So how can you support Reading’s Bid?

  • Continue to provide an interesting facts about Reading via twitter or comments.  Read full request by clicking here

  • Follow us on twitter @cityofreading and spread the word that the people of Reading are behind the City Status bid.
  • Finally, and most importantly of all, if you have a positive story or event that is in Reading, send your article along with a photograph to contactus@thecityofreading.com.
  • We are trying to build a more united community in Reading to help support the bid and fuel civic pride in Reading

So why not get involved today and feel free to plug events that you are participating in, or any achievements you have been a part of.

Remember, it is your town, lets make it your City!
